Since the new Thorntons has been built on 10th and lynhurst it has been the only place I've purchased fuel for my automobile. Thursday the 6th of January, 2005, I filled up there with exactly 10$, with what was supposedly "premium" grade gasoline. Saturday the 8th my truck died on I-465 and when I got my truck re-started it was running very very rough, I promptly drove it to an autoparts store to run a diagnostic as my check engine light was on. The diagnostic said 3 of my 6 cylinders were misfiring. Today, January 13th, I drop my truck off at a toyota dealership and an hour later am told that there is a decent amount of DIESEL fuel in my fuel system. To clean the diesel out and repair the damages to my vehicle it is going to cost me a quoted $460. Now due to 10$ in alleged "premum" gasoline (which either had diesel mixed in with it or was in fact pure diesel) I now have $460 worth of repairs. I have learned that another person who purchased gasoline there the 11th of January, 2005, purchased a few gallons of gasoline and his automobile was running very very hard untill the gas was all used up and replaced with gas from another gas station. I am informing I-team 8 so you may investigate and see if this was a fluke or something that may be more common so that you may save other motorists costly repairs if it does happen to be a re-occuring issue.
